Happy Friday everyone! One of the most important things I consider while shopping is, can I style this piece in more than one way. Because if I can't then I am going to get bored of it very soon and that's not getting most bang for my buck! When I saw this beautiful, sunny yellow dress in Zara it just made me happy :) Yellow is typically not my color but because of it's clean design and statement sleeves I was drawn towards this dress. Well, if I was going to buy a bright yellow dress, I was going to have to come up with more than one way of wearing it. And this is what I came up with :)
LOOK 1
For the first look, I paired the dress with an over-sized denim jacket. Denim jackets are having a huge moment right now, especially the over-sized/relaxed fit ones. I couldn't find a relaxed fit one so I decided to size up and go for a 'Large'. Denim is the ultimate definition of casual. Pair it with anything and it instantly dresses the outfit down. Plus denim is perfect for warmer weather since the fabric is so breathable. And if it gets too hot then you can just tie it around your waist. Below are few of my favorite under $50 denim jackets. I finished off the look with my favorite pair of white sneakers and a mini cross-body bag
LOOK 2
For the second look, I wanted the dress to be the star of the show, so I kept everything else simple. For a more formal look, you tend to lean towards black. It's almost like a reflex but to change things up a bit I went with browns. The brown suede sling back heels are a touch different than pumps and tie in well with the satchel. I topped off the look with this necklace my mom got me from India. I love adding a touch of India in my outfits whenever can.
